Another day at work, another day growing older.

I've frequently griped about how I can't tell who are my friends or enemies among my colleagues.

But today I learnt a sadder truth... It doesn't matter that I don't know who my enemies are, so long as I know who aren't my friends.

The latter, I've found out, is the more insidious because the less suspect.

Wariness is such a tiring front.

Today I am happy because...

Unkymoods is back on my blogsite!

Have been trying to locate it since Marc Lutz took his unkymoods site down and deprived bloggers everywhere from using his cool cool drawings as mood indicators.

But a major fan set up a new site for it under punkymoods haha (with permission of course) and so ta-dah! No more moodsmilies!

Yay... ok ow... head hurts, need to slow down.

These things always happen.

Argh. Tucked between the folds inside the side pocket of my sports bag was the watch which I thought I had lost and for which I already bought a Fossil watch to replace.

Can't decide whether to be happy about it or not.

(Yes, I know it doesn't matter in the greater scheme of things, but everything pales in comparison to "The BIG picture"anyway. )

It's just another manic (Sun)day...

Am uber uber tired today.

Was at Butter Factory last night til 2am even though it wasn't super exciting nor was the music fantastic. Nevertheless, I had a great conversation with my bud over beers and house pours reminscing about uni days of old and the intricacies of male-female interaction in clubs (such topics do make time fly). Then got home and tucked in by 3am but had to wake up at 7am to make it to church by eight. *YawN*

Came home and only managed to get 30min shuteye before heading out to my first hiphop lesson (been pretty excited about it for awhile so I was determined not to miss it no matter how zombied I was). The class was hOt and happening but I was not :( By the third set of 8 I totally bombed - sigh. I am aching right now from that one hour slot as I haven't in a while, so that means I'm definitely heading back there again, not just for the great workout but also to redeem any shred of opinion that I can dance. *Nods head vigorously in self-reassurance*

Since I had already promised to cook dinner for the family to celebrate Fathers' Day, had to do major grocery shopping at Jason's in Raffles City (boy, the basement's really cool now after renovation - make mental note to explore the area again). And of course, as fate would have it, had to bump into my sec. sch senior in the supermarket - she as usual well put together, elegant and immaculate, like ALL TherE - and me, in my sweaty grubs. Why do these things always happen? So I deftly rolled my loaded trolley to the next aisle and promptly avoided personal mortification =) Some other trials along the way included guessing that shallots were just weeny onions, that cayenne was just a minor spice that my dish could do without since I couldnt' find it in the store, and having to battle wailing children in the vinaigrette section while I hovered between white wine vinegar and rosemary vinegar (original recipe stated champagne vinegar so I was like er... but no biggie, making dishes up along the way anyhow).

Got home at 330pm, decided to relearn my hiphop steps til 415pm then headed to the kitchen. I did not know then, that I'd be in there for the next 3.5 hours! What took so long? Me, in my rest-deprived stupor, unthinkingly did not buy boneless chicken thighs. So I got stuck trying to chop the meat off as well as defatting it, and I'll have you know, there are some mighty fat chickens out there... At the end of which, there really wasn't that much meat left:P At this point I decided to pull those inadequate pieces into stuffed rolls held together by tooth picks, in addition to the main chops. Ssshh.

Regardless, my fight with the chickens ended and dinner was produced at 8pm. The menu?

Cheesy baked garlic mashed potatoes on the side, cornmeal-paprika crusted sauted black pepper chickens served with asparagus, sun dried tomatoes and squash, and topped with beurre blanc sauce.

Sweet crisp Moscato wine accompanying the meal made it hm-hm goood :)

Daddy was happy, so was I.

*note to self: must remember to get bro to split grocery bill...*

Personal Philosophies

How do you draw the line between...

contentment and neglect
knowing what you want badly and desperation
getting what you want intensely and losing self respect?

Where do you stand in the things you do to get to where you want to be?
